Baba's on Cannon

After a team photo shoot one Saturday downtown, B.V. and I stopped by Fast & French for a quick bite... but there was a 45 minutes wait. We walked around the corner to Miller’s All Day... but it was a one hour wait.  I suggested we try Babas on Cannon. It’s been on my list to try for a while and the reviews have been good. It’s one block off King, and we found a table without any wait at all.

There are bar seats where you can watch the action, high top community tables, and a bench that creates two-tops (where we sat). They call themselves an “old world cafe,” which seems apropos. The decor is crisp and simple without any color, almost stark but very clean feeling.

It was every bit as good as the recommendations indicated! They serve an array of house made non dairy milks. I chose the mocha café with peanut milk. It was divine, reminiscent of a peanut butter cup.

For food we split a chicken salad on sourdough and a spinach salad with pickled shrimp. Both were fresh and tasty.  The staff was friendly and efficient. The noise level allowed for conversation. Parking was easy. All of which means it was #DedeApproved and we will return!
