Restaurant Review: Tradd's
The Fleet Landing crew has renovated the corner of East Bay and Queen, formerly occupied by Cypress. The interior is still upscale modern, but they have managed to preserve a historic yet intimate feeling. Hats off to the design team.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu had appealing selections, many perfect for sharing.
We started with a fava toast. I thought it would be a paste but it was whole blanched fava beans perched on top of fresh ricotta with pine nuts and chervil. The result was unique and delicious. A lobster gnocchi was our second course. Plenty of lobster and the sauce was so delicious we asked for more bread to sop it up. We shared an entrée of perfectly seared scallops over corn medley. The kitchen divided it for us which was a nice touch.
Dessert was the best, a caramel tart nestled in a mixture of toffee and pretzel crumbs. Sounds odd but was outstanding. The edible flowers added a nice touch.
We had 2 drinks, 2 apps, 1 entrée and 1 dessert and the bill was $106.00 (very reasonable for the experience. I highly recommend Tradds for elegant dining that won’t break the bank.
